6 6 Our Mission Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council, Inc. will support member tribes in expanding sovereignty and self-determination.

7 7 Our Values  Respect for all individuals – We value cultural and individual differences. Our programs afford access and opportunity for all American Indians residing in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. In addition to difference involving gender, ethnicity, age, disability and lifestyle reference, diversifying also means variety in thoughts and expressions. We seek to increase the understanding among diverse cultures, because we believe that embracing differences expands understanding.  Respect for tribal autonomy – We value a tribe’s right to follow a path that is good for its people. GLITC is guided by the following set of principles that help determine how to meet responsibilities to member tribes.
