3 Job Descriptions Appointed Officials –Mayor –Governor Bank Employees –Check Cashier –Deposit Clerk –Withdrawal Clerk City Workers –Chronologists (Day & Date) –Meteorologists (AM & PM) –Archivists (AM & PM) –Librarians Agencies –Rental Agents –General Store Clerks –Sports Equipment Clerks

4 A city functions successfully because the citizens work, live, and participate in community activities. Each student will be assigned a job or function within our city. Each student's responsibility as a citizen of the city is to have their timecard stamped in morning by the attendance foremen, participate in weekly town meetings, budget their money earned, and act responsibly. Task

5 Curriculum Goals Ohio Academic Content Standards – Social Studies in Economics Ohio Academic Content Standards – Mathematics in Number and Number Systems dealing with money. Ohio Content Skills from Content Standards and Technology Integration – Basic Operations and Concepts, Technology Productivity Tools, Technology Communication Tools, and Technology Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Tools

6 Weekly Evaluation This evaluation provides the students with a way of writing reflective thoughts about the week. The evaluations are used to help develop meaningful town meetings.

7 Diversity Students will have a partner for each job. The partners provide support for each other. –If students need information read to them, help counting money, or writing, then the partner, volunteer, or teacher will assist. –Our school has access to a program that will scan print material allowing the size of the font be increased, and the student then is able listen and respond on the computer to the handout. –Calculators may be used to help double check money amounts before being entered. The simulation has inputs that are easy to locate, enter, and submit data.
