How do REET and the SST Differ? Regional Environmental Emergencies Team Scientific Support Team Standing Regional Team Fed. & Provincial Agencies Fed. & Provincial Agencies Private industry Private industry Agencies retain inherent authorities. “Chaired” Solutions are voted on-OSC receives single course of action Policy questions are addressed Ad Hoc National Team NOAA ERD (Home & Away Teams) Integrates other science groups (RP, state, academic, Environmental Unit) Leverages local knowledge “Coordinated” Consensus based - OSC receives all perspectives, with recommendations SST Integrates throughout the command SST has no inherent authority Policy questions are not addressed by the SST.
