21 2799 Mo Conclusions Results of large observational studies do not support the hypothesis that patients on treatment with RAS antagonists are at greater risk of cancer Actually the majority of animal and "in vitro" studies suggest the opposite, i.e. that RAS antagonists may protect against cancer incidence and progression Few, small, non randomized studies have shown that treatment with RAS antagonists in men is associated with lower incidence and progression of cancer, specifically of gastro-intestinal origin More controlled, prospective studies are needed to confirm the antiblastic potentialities of RAS antagonists
