1. Military folks who live in on-base housing; they receive housing at no cost; they receive no cash housing allowance; the value of the housing benefit is not reflected on their earnings statement. Military folks who live in off-base housing; they do receive a cash housing allowance and the cash allowance is reflected on their earnings statement.

Military folks who live off-base in “privatized housing,” i.e. private housing provided by a contractor under agreement with the military; they receive housing at no cost; they do NOT receive any cash housing allowance; however, their earnings statement does reflect the value of the housing.
