2 Introduction  PATT is an outgrowth of a series of meetings at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) in 2004/2005  Developed by John Coder, Sentier Research, in consultation with Douglas Besharov, University of Maryland

3 UMD Poverty Analysis and Tabulation Tool (PATT)  Stand-alone software application  Uses CPS Annual Social & Economic Supplement (ASEC) data from 1968-2007  Allows users to analyze poverty data by manipulating the threshold and income definition of the current poverty measure
