OBJECTIVES FOR PREPARING WORKSHEETS To strengthen the ELOs in the lesson through supplementary exercises To build competencies To address difficult areas through different evaluatory / supplementary child friendly activities To address difficult areas through simplifying content. To lighten the bag load. To bring multiple resources in multiple ways in multiple formats.

PERIODICITY AND TYPES OF WORKSHEETS 1. Worksheet per lesson per month 2. All worksheets are to be typed and the soft copy archived in subject wise, class wise folders 3. One evaluation worksheet having all the competencies, at the month end for classes I&II 4. Revision WS to be framed by the paper setters for all pen and paper tests- FA1, FA3,SA1 &SA2. A MODEL PAPER CAN BE SET FOR SA1 & SA2 to familiarize students with the pattern of the paper. 5. Dates of submission – month end for WS I &II and 10th of every month for WS III &IV 6. Each worksheet to have three 3 levels- for the learning challenged, average and the advanced learner 7. Worksheets can be assigned as Class work /Homework 8. Worksheets can be given before the lesson as a pre-test / during the lesson as a formative assessment and post -test as an evaluator item

Format Times New Roman Font Size 16, Heading 18 for classes I & II- double spacing Times New Roman Font Size 14, heading 16 for classes III-V double spacing All HEADINGS can be in bold typeface. HINDI Worksheet to be computerized using Hindi Unicode, Google transliterate tool which can be transported across systems. NO. OF QUESTIONS - In multiples of 5 and/or 5 LENGTH OF THE WORKSHEET- Minimum of one page and a max. of two pages ( back to back) for each worksheet for each lesson.

The exercises given in the worksheet should be both student and teacher friendly- enjoyable to the students and requiring minimum time on the part of the teacher for correction. The items should: Be worded in simple, age appropriate language Be based on the ELOs Supplement the exercises given in the textbook- not be the same as given in the text book Target the difficult areas/concepts, IN EACH LESSON in each subject. Child friendly evaluator items/exercises like picture based questions, riddles, puzzle, maze, game based activities CONTENT OF THE WORKSHEET-

o Questions on difficult areas such as Problem Solving Ability, Fractions, Decimals. o ( Some prompts and clues can be given in the worksheet to help students orient them to the required processes) o Include one short, known and unknown comprehension passage every month o along with creative writing with prompts, grammar items, o difficult areas such as verb forms, punctuation, word order in statement as well as in questions, contracted forms ( in Speaking)etc. Languages Mathematics

o Questions on cause and effect, o relationships, analogies, o spot the differences, o observe and record, Reasoning, classification, categorization, o concern for justice and equality, o framing questions on given resource, analyzing a given situation from real life EVS

The worksheets maybe filed in chronological order in the worksheet folder. o Grades maybe awarded if the work is done by the students individually or with peer / teacher support. o It is a good idea to submit the answer key along with the worksheet to promote self / peer evaluation in classes III- V The answer key can save a lot of correction time for the Teacher. o However the teacher is required to validate the papers after self / peer correction. GRADING RECORDING PORTFOLIO- Students can be guided to place the best worksheet in the Portfolio with a short reflection

o INTERNET DOWNLOADS OF WORKSHEETS SHOULD BE CAREFULLY EDITED FOR AGE APPROPRIATE LAGUAGE, o CONTEXTS o THE NUMBER OF ITEMS o Clarity of print, pictures The Worksheet Folder can be sent home/ shown to parents. They should be issued to students before the pen-paper test and collected back after the schedule. IMPORTANT
