3 Types of Shapes There are two types of shapes; geometric and free-form (organic) Geometric shapes are precise shapes that can be measured with mathematical formulas

4 Free-form (organic) shapes are irregular and uneven shapes

5 Your Group Assignment 1.Cut three geometric and three free-form shapes 2.As a group create three collages: 1.Using two geometric shape from each person 2.Using two free-form shape from each person 3.Using one geometric and one free-form shape from each person 3.Experiment with different arrangements before gluing 4.Glue shapes onto a contrasting color for the background 5.Create a short story or a poem for each collage 6.Present your collages to the class

16 Directions Your name has to: be large, collaged, overlapping, made of shapes and colors representing you, fill the page, be unique in lettering. Your background has to: have varied shapes and sizes representing your interests, overlap.

18 You will be graded on: Design: name is easy to read, various sizes of shapes and letters, fills the page, unique Technique: crisp, clean cuts, no pencil, collaged Craftsmanship: quality work Following directions: name, date and period on back, on task, etc.
