11. Listening text China’s Cultural Theme Park Ricky and Lucy, two American tourists, are part of a tour group visiting the Folk Culture Villages in Shenzhen. This Chinese theme park shows the homes, temples and dress of more than twenty minority groups in China.

12. GUIDE: Which village do you want to see first? There are twenty-five villages here, and they are all life- size, so we have to make some choices.

13. RICKY: What I really want to do is eat some of the food that Naxi women are making over there. We got up very early this morning and didn’t have any breakfast.

14. GUIDE: OK, but hurry up, because we want to see at least half of the villages before noon. We mustn’t miss the Uyghur cultural dances and the Dai singing in the afternoon.

15. LUCY: I hope we have time to see some of the things that the people are making. I’d love to get some of that beautiful Miao cloth for my mother.

16. GUIDE: I think you’ll also enjoy seeing the different styles of houses. They show the environments that people live in as well as the various cultures.

17. RICKY: I’d like to see the homes of the Bai people. I heard somewhere that the Bai people do beautiful work in wood and their buildings are amazing.
