1. Must consult with private schools to assess, address, and evaluate the needs of private school students and educators 2. Must spend an equal amount of funds per student to provide services 3. Must provide opportunities for participation in activities equivalent to those provided in the public school 4. Must offer services that are secular, neutral, and non-ideological

Provide timely and meaningful consultation to determine: How the needs of private students and teachers will be identified What services will be offered How, where, and by whom services will be provided How services will be assessed and how results of assessments will be used to improve services

Provide equitable services: Onsite or at the public school Supplementary instruction provided through a pullout model Opportunities for teachers to participate in professional development Opportunities for parents to participate in involvement activities, including ongoing parent communication and required parent compacts

Parent Involvement: Invite parents to an annual meeting to explain Title I Services Involve parents in the compact process Involve parents in the spring needs assessment and local annual review Involve parent in evaluating the effectiveness of parent involvement

Title IIA: High Quality Teachers & Principals Must provide equitable professional development services Assess, address, and evaluate needs (Professional Development Survey) Provide an opportunity to participate in Title IIA activities equivalent to the opportunities provided to public school educators (IIA Consortium Activities)

Title IID Must provide equitable professional development services based on a per-pupil allocation

Title III English Language Learners Must assess the needs of private school students and provide support for designing services CESA 10 Consortium ELL Consultant

Timeline Spring meeting with private and public school officials to develop a Private School Collaborative Agreement Fall meeting to finalize and sign the completed Collaborative Agreement Ongoing, open communication to monitor the implementation of the Collaborative Agreement

Letters of notification Sign-on/sign off form for every private school Agendas from meetings (include signatures) Documentation of “meaningful consultation” the Collaborative Agreement Documentation showing how the professional development needs of private school teachers were identified Professional Development Survey

Program evaluation determining the effectiveness of the Title I Program Data analysis and summary of student progress

How much money do the private schools receive? Can money be used to provide materials? How do private schools access professional development? Who receives services at the private school? Who provides instruction at the private school?
