Making my Queries and Reports Cindy Zapata

Making my Queries

Firstly I clicked on the ‘create’ tab and then clicked on the ‘query design’ tab.

Then this window popped up and I selected the Eat Well database and then clicked on add. Once I had done this I clicked on close, in order to close the whole ‘show table’ window. 1 2 3

This window came up and I double clicked on all of the options The options I had double clicked then appeared in the table shown in the picture above.

I then inserted the criteria for the foods I was looking for. The criteria I used was less than 100 calories for all of my queries because research shows that low calorie diets can help you lose weight. Picking the criteria… A number of published studies suggest that VLCDs (very low calorie diets) are effective in helping obese people to lose weight. For example, a 2009 randomised controlled trial concluded that there was an average weight loss of 31kg for obese patients who followed a very-low- calorie diet compared with 4kg for those following a low-carbohydrate/high-protein diet. 2009 randomised controlled trial http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Obesity/Pages/Treatment.aspx

Nhs Website: Other Website: I chose to use the Nhs website because it is the British national health service website thus making it official and a reliable source of information. Whereas the other website I looked at failed to provide me with the information required and I was unsure of it’s reliability.

When I had finished inserting the criteria I then clicked ‘Run’.

This what the query looks like when completed.

I repeated the steps again three more times and inserted different criteria for each of my queries. This is what all three queries looked like once completed.

Making my Reports

Firstly I begun by clicking on the ‘Create tab’ followed by the Report button.

This template came up and I then decorated it according to the colours of my theme and changed the font to match my theme also.

This what the report looked like once I had finished decorating it.

I then exported the reports as a PDF and saved it in my area. Once I’d selected where to save it I clicked publish.

This is what all three reports looked like when completed.
