O BJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT To promote awareness among young people and general public about global challenges and the Millennium Development Goals To empower young people, particularly young people with fewer opportunities, and give them tools and opportunities for active participation in facing global challenges To promote active citizenship of young people and specifically their global responsibility

O BJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT II To promote mobility of young people from different countries and to foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries To foster capacity-buildings of youth NGOs active in the field of global challenges and facilitate exchange of experience and good practices between them To create a network of organisations with a common philosophy and aims and sustainable partnership leading to further follow-up projects

O BJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT III To contribute to development of youth policies and youth work in relation to young people and global challenges To involve in the project young people with fewer opportunities and emphasize their role in helping to overcome global problems To increase employability and promote entrepreneurship of young people through concrete projects and activities in this field

K ICK -O FF M EETING IN G UATEMALA December 2010 official opening of the project a chance for representatives of the groups and NGOs to meet and discuss about all the activities of the project Building a sustainable network of youth organisations Press conference, meetings with political representatives, NGOs, institutions, local authorities, etc.

N ATIONAL P ROJECT T EAMS Groups of 10-20 young „global ambassadors“ Mostly young people with fewer opportunities, coming from vulnerable backgrounds Meeting regularly every month Discussing about global challenges and ways how young people can face them Preparing local pilot projects under the supervision of an experienced coach

S EMINAR AND S TUDY V ISIT IN C HILE April 2010 Young „global ambassadors“ will discuss and reflect about their perception of global challenges, exchange their experience with this field and receive input from experts in different fields Concrete examples of projects, organisations and good practices in Chile Meetings with local NGOs, political representatives

L OCAL P ILOT P ROJECTS Projects initiated and implemented by young people themselves in every country Centered around five action days: May 21 - World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development June 5 - World Environment Day August 12 - International Youth Day September 21 - International Day of Peace October 17 - International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

O NLINE VIDEO CONFERENCES Regular online workshops about sustainable development, environmental problems, intercultural dialogue, poverty and social exclusion, gender equality, etc. An opportunity for young people from the six countries to meet regularly, exchange their experience and evaluate the activities of the project

J OB S HADOWING Possibility for the young „global ambassadors“ to spend three weeks working in a partner NGO in another country of Europe or Latin America Opportunity for exchange of experience and good practices as well as intercultural learning

E VALUATION M EETING IN L UXEMBOURG Eight-days-long seminar in Luxembourg that will bring together young representatives from all the national project teams to present the results of the project, evaluate them and reflect about the learning process and further follow-up

E VALUATION C ONFERENCE IN O XFORD Following right after the Evaluation Meeting in Luxembourg During three days in Oxford, participants will have a chance to present the results of their pilot activities to the world’s prominent academics, political representatives and other guests Interesting synergy between formal and non-formal education

P ROMOTION C AMPAIGN AND V ISIBILITY The project will be very visible both in Europe and Latin America We will create a database of 3000 stakeholders in the field of youth policy We will organise a number of press conference, public presentations, meetings with political representatives Internet portal about youth participation in facing global challenges Interactive international exhibition at the end of the project Publication about young people and global challenges, in co-operation with Oxford experts
