4 Keys to Success Documentation – Keep records of what you have and details of what your plans are. Preparation – Be proactive in your approach. Evaluation – Test your plans frequently to make sure they work. Activation – When a disaster strikes, be ready to use your plan

Preparations –Establish a Crisis Management Team (CMT) who will direct the recovery operations and coordinate all emergency activities –Teams include Corporate & Regional facilities –Assign alternate facilities/locations –Define a clear method of how communication will occur in a disaster

CMT Responsibilities include the following: –Establish a Command Center. –Direct the efforts of the Recovery Support Teams. –Coordinate communications with executive management, employees, regulators, civil authorities and the public. –Provide a liaison with the lines of business. –Allocate and prioritize resources, e.g., staff, space, computers, and telephones.

Conduct Damage Assessment Establish Checklist Plan not only for facility impact, but consider, IT communications or applications are down – –“Develop Manual Operating procedures” to support daily operations for Inventory, Picking, Receiving, RTV and Shipping –Understand Third Party processing BC/DRP Keep the Crisis Management Team abreast of activities, and ensure communications to key departments, i.e., Transportation, Supply Chain, etc.
