Wisconsin Aerial Imagery Ted Koch, Wisconsin State Cartographer’s Office WLIA 2005 Annual Conference February 24 th, 2005 What’s a Digital Orthophoto? Aerial photo –Captured by film-based or digital camera. –Contains distortions due to differences in terrain elevation and aircraft position. –Does not have constant scale across the image.
4
Wisconsin Aerial Imagery Ted Koch, Wisconsin State Cartographer’s Office WLIA 2005 Annual Conference February 24 th, 2005 What’s a Digital Orthophoto? Digital Image produced by: –Geometric correction of the image –Unwarping the effects of distortion due to terrain and camera position.
