2.  Every human has dignity & deserves respect regardless of the circumstances of his or her life: and to that end, Family to Family is dedicated to serving hot, nourishing meals to those in need.  Family to Family is a non-profit, non-sectarian, all volunteer program since 1983. It is dependent upon gifts of food, time, and monetary contributions from individuals, churches and organizations.

4. Each group consists of a coordinator and volunteers: together they gather the food, prepare and serve the meal.

5.  MONDAY, WED., FRIDAY 11:30-12:30 PM  SATURDAY & SUNDAY 8:00 – 9:00 AM  LOCATION: 303 N. VENTURA AVENUE, VENTURA  CATHOLIC CHARITIES BUILDING, SUITE G

6.  EVERY 5 YEARS, FAMILY TO FAMILY REACHES OUT TO THE PATRONS OF THE SOUP KITCHEN AND FINDS OUT WHAT AGES OUR VISITORS ARE, WHERE THEY COME FROM AND WHY THEY ARE HERE.  IT APPEARS THAT FAMILY TO FAMILY IS SEEING A LARGE INCREASE IN OVER 50 YEARS OF AGE VISITORS DINING WITH US ~ A SIGN OF POOR ECONOMICS AND LACK OF JOBS. VENTURA COUNTY STAR REPORTED SEPT 2011 10.9 % UNEMPLOYMENT ~ AND IT IS THOUGHT TO BE HIGHER IN VENTURA, OJAI, SANTA PAULA, FILLMORE, MOORPARK.

7.  FOR OVER 4 YEARS:  SOCIAL SERVICES TASK FORCE HAS BEEN MEETING IN THE FAMILY TO FAMILY DINING ROOM. CITY, COUNTY AND NON-PROFIT AGENCIES MEET TO DISCUSS ISSUES TO ASSIST HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS. DONNA MASON IS OUR RESPRESENTATIVE AT THESE MEETINGS  LEFT OVER FOOD HAS BEEN GOING TO TURNING POINT( A DROP IN CENTER FOR MENTALLY ILL HOMELESS MEN), TO HARBOR CHURCH ( SERVING THE POOR) AND TO KHEPERA HOUSE ( ALCOHOL RECOVERY HOMES FOR MEN)
