Some facts From around 1965 until today, the number of churches in Boston has grown from ~300 (1970) to 575 (2010) The percentage of the city’s population in churches is estimated to have increased from ~3% to ~14%. This has been has been the longest period of church planting in Boston, despite a sharp decline in the number of mainline, established churches © 2012 Emmanuel Gospel Center

Growth Many of these growing churches are smaller and often go unnoticed. It’s not just the numbers that are growing. Growth is also evidenced by: growing unity increased prayer maturing church systems strong and trained leadership © 2012 Emmanuel Gospel Center

Why it’s ‘quiet’ No one expected this. No one was working to make it happen. Many ministers working in the city were even unaware of this growth. Today we call this phenomenon the Quiet Revival © 2012 Emmanuel Gospel Center
