Have materials with you and know due dates.
Be a polite and positive participant
Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively. No profanity.
Be productive
Turn in work on time, and always do your best.
Be a problem solver
Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate.

4. Show Respect
Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values.
Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect even when your teacher is absent.
Honor the ideas and opinions of others.
Offer to help.
Be responsible with property and belongings.

5. Responsibility for Coursework
Bring notebook, textbook, planner, calculator and appropriate writing tools to class.
Write down learning goals for the semester and for every week.
Know due dates, and submit all coursework on time.
All assignments are posted on the bulletin board and on the class Web site.
Make effort to learn in class and practice during tutorials.

7. Promote Lifelong Learning
You can develop lifelong learning traits:
By showing interest in how problems are solved.
By seeking and valuing diversity.
By persisting in seeking out new solutions.
By using your unique talents and intelligence to promote positive change.
By learning and applying technology tools to solve problems.

8. Policies Food, beverages and gum are not allowed in the classroom.
Please be in your seat when the bell rings, as class begins at that time.
Major assignments and projects can be resubmitted. They will be scored at a 10% deduction.
Absences
Missed work with your name on it will be in the ‘Missed work Folder.’
Ask your team and classmates for help with any missed work first.
Check the bulletin board and class website.

9. CLASS RULES Be Respectful. Be Prepared. Be On time. Be Responsible.
Follow instructions.
Promote peace and order in the classroom.
Classroom Participation is required!

10. Consequences of breaking rules
1st offense: Verbal Warning and More Work.
2nd offense: Parent and Student Conference/Project and behavior essay.
3rd offense: Detention and Counselor
4th offense: Office referral which could result in suspension, PASS, Alternative School, Tickets, etc…

11. REWARDS FOR KEEPING RULES as Individuals or the whole class
15mins. of student chosen activity on Friday
Stickers and Ribbons.
Power Point Games.
Homework Pass.
Recognition.

12. Procedures When you come into class,
Put homework if any in your period folder, Look at the Agenda for the day, put away backpacks from desks and get your assigned supplies from the supplies table including worksheets, markers, white board, calculator, etc.. And start working on the warm up.
During class activities,
When you hear/see the sign for silence, STOP what your are doing and listen for instructions from teacher.
If you finish work early,
Read an article and summarize it in your journal
Solve a TAKS problem
Draw pictures about what you have just learned in class

13. Procedures If you do not understand the work,
Write down the problem and let your team members teach you. Ask for more practice questions and try again on your own. Check the answer with the teacher.
If you still don’t understand, fill out a post It with your name and the concept you do not understand and paste it on the ‘EXTRA PRACTICE’ space in the classroom. You will also consider TUTORIALS.
After every activity,
Check for any missed work if you were absent, Clear your calculator data, put away supplies, pick up trash, and wait for dismissal from teacher.

14. Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points.
Points are based on:
Class participation (effort)
Completion of assignments
(daily work)
Major projects, exams, and
self-assessments
Grade cards will be updated by teacher every 3weeks.
Our Grading Scale
90-100% = A
80-89% = B
70-79% = C
60-69% = F
Below 60% = F
Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible.

15. Homework
The main purpose of homework is to increase your familiarity with a concept and develop your speed and accuracy in that concept.
Write down questions that arise as you do your homework and bring it to class for clarification.
The consequences for not doing your homework include but is not limited to:

I will trust you until you give me reason to do otherwise.
