A passage from the D of I from the Declaration of Rights… What does this mean? All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government.

Assignment Complete the following: What does this preamble mean? What is the whole point of the preamble and who is it specifically speaking to? What are the specific key parts/phrases of the Declaration of Rights that are specific reasons to rebel against England [ex. something that’s important or stands out]? Select one key grievance [complaint] against the King and describe what might caused the Americans to write it [law, incident or event]. Select one of the signers and speculate [an educated guess] why he decided to join the rebellion. This will require some independent research about him.
