In one paragraph, write a summary for the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” in which you predict the plot based on the following words that relate to the story: Ship Island Dogs Hunt Game Mansion Storm

Turtle= Time keeper. You are responsible to keeping your group on task in order to complete the assignment within the period. Fish= Editor. Your job is to edit your group’s responses when we share out. Dog= Facilitator. Your job is to move your group along. Don’t spend too much time in one area. “I think we have answered this part. Let’s move on.” Cat= Spokesperson. Your job is to present your groups assigned question to the class tomorrow. ALL GROUP MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTRIBUTING ANSWERS TO THE ASSIGNMENT

Consider the title, and respond to the following questions with a partner: Are there any words that have multiple meanings? If so, which one(s)? Based on the title, what could this story be about?

On your sheet of paper, write down the following statements: Hunting is a sport. Animals have no feelings. Hunting is evil. Hunting is unfair. Animals have emotions. Strength is more important than intelligence. Bringing a gun to a knife fight is fair.

Next to each of the statements you wrote on your half sheet, decide which ones you believe to be true and which ones you believe to be false. Next to each statement, Mark “T” for true OR Mark “F” for false

On the back of the sentence starters sheet, respond to the following quickwrite in 5 or more sentences: Agree/ disagree: Hunting is evil. Explain using one or more examples.

1. Move to the agree or disagree side of the room depending on your position about the topic of hunting. 2. Each person will have a chance to voice his or her opinion on the topic. 3. You must repeat what the previous person said. 4. If at any time you change your mind, you may switch sides.
