3 Followers  Islam has 1.2 billion followers. ّسمشو اشس ١. ٢ زهممهخر خممخصثقس.  13% of Muslims live in Indonesia the largest Muslim Country.  20% of Muslims live in the Middle East.  15% of Muslims live in Africa.  52% live in Asia خممخصثقس

4 Beliefs  Islam means “peace through the submission of God.” ّسمشو وثشرس “ حثشذث فاقخعلا فاث سعزوهسسهخر فخ خي.”  The Qur’an is the holy word of God in the Islamic faith.  Allah is the Islamic God. « ممشا هس فاث ّسمشوهذ خي. أثمهثبس

5 Call to Prayer  The call to Prayer goes five times a day and is said to a newborn baby or in a new home. The call to prayer does what it says it does, calls people to pray. ئشممم فخ [ قشغثق Allah is Most Great. I bear witness that there is none worthy of being worshipped except Allah. I bear witness that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah. Come to prayer. Come to Success. Allah is Most Great. There is none worthy of being worshipped except Allah. Allahu Akbar. Ash-hadu an la ilaha ill-Allah. Ash-hadu anna Muhammad-ar-Rasoolullah. Hayya 'alas-Salah. Hayya 'alal-falah. Allahu Akbar. La ilaha ill-Allah.

6 The Five Pillars of Islam  The five Pillars of Islam resemble the five acts of Islam. ُاث بهدث حهممشقس خب ّسمشو قثسثوزمث فاث بهدث شذفس خب ّسمشو. ُاث هدث [ هممشقس ] ب ّسمشو 1 st ) Shahada- The acceptance that Allah is God and that Muhammad is his Prophet. 2 nd ) Salah- worship to Allah 3 rd ) Zakāt- One’s donation of wealth to charity, primarily the poor and needy 4 th ) Sawm- To fast during Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. 5 th ) Hajj- the pilgramage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and is the demonstration of the support between all Muslims. It must be done at least once by every able bodied Muslim

7 Ramadan  Ramadan is a Muslim holiday at the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It involves fasting which is not eating or drinking when the sun is up. ٍشوشيشر
