“Who are you and why am I here?” Beth Allen I have been teaching in Botetourt County for 15 years. I am a Hokie!!! I went to VT to become a teacher and got a degree in History and Political Science. I am in graduate school at VT working on my master’s degree in Instructional Technology. I teach Civics/Economics, and Seminar 8 which is why you are here today!

What do I need in class everyday? Civics books will be left in the classroom (you may take a book home upon request). Bring notebook and binder everyday Pen or pencil **I will leave a note on door if you will need colored pens, pencils, scissors, etc.

Civics/Economics Grading— 1. Six Weeks Test--20% 2. Quizzes--60% 3. Homework/Daily grades--10% 4. Journals/Notebook- 10%

Seminar 8- **This course is divided into mini units. 1. Two of the units will have quizzes that will be used for assessment. 2. All other units students will receive a project rubric for assessment. Projects will be returned until mastery of subject is shown. 3. Student work will be compiled into an electronic portfolio.
