Get onto Website The first step in starting your journey with Facebook is actually getting onto the website. In the URL, type facebook.com. It should load this page.
5
Create an Account When there is nobody previously logged in, the page will show this “Sign Up” automatically. Fill in your name, email, password, birthday, and gender. The website needs your birthday to verify your age, and it needs your email to send confirmation for the account.
6
Email Confirmation Once you click on the “Sign Up” button, Facebook will tell you to confirm your email address. It will show you this message. Make sure to check your email to continue your process.
7
Find Friends Once you confirm your email, you’ll click on the link. It will bring you to this page. From your email, Facebook will suggest a friend for you. You can add them or you can click the “Skip,” next to the “Save & Continue.” It will then prompt you to find other friends through email, but you can skip it the same way as before.
8
Fill Out Information The next step is to fill out information. It asks you about your high school, college, and hometown so it can connect you to people you may know.
9
Choose Interests Facebook will then prompt you to tell it some of your interests. This will help the website put advertisements on your newsfeed. You may skip this option the same way you did with finding your friends.
10
Add Profile Picture The final step for setting up your account is selecting a profile picture. You do not need to put one of your actual self, but it does help others recognize you.
11
Logging In You are finally done! Now once you try to log in again, you will fill in this part of the site. Put in your email address and then your password.
12
How to Search You may want to search for people that you know to become friends with them. The Search bar at the top your Facebook page is where you’ll do this.
13

Search Groups/Pages You can do the same for the search of groups as you did with the friends.
15
Advanced Search With the advanced search, you do it within the search bar. You can add where someone lives (like the example) or where they went to school. You can add whichever category to find someone more specifically.
16
Make a Post Once you are ready to view your newsfeed, you can make a post. Just type in whatever you want and press send. You can also add a picture to your status update. You can also comment on others post or like it. You can press on the thumbs up to like it or write in the comment box for a comment.

18
