Do Paul and James disagree?! (Ephesians 2:8-9) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- {9} not by works, so that no one can boast. (James 2:14) What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds [works]? Can such faith save him? (James 2:17) In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action [works], is dead.

1. If good works are absent, it proves that a person is not saved. Good works after salvation proves if we are saved. – Therefore, make sure you are saved and do good works to prove it. 2. * If good works are absent, it means a believers faith is useless to others. – Therefore, make sure you do good works God planned for you, and not just believe in Christ to get to heaven. (Be doers of the word – 1:22) Faith without works is dead Two interpretations of James 2:14-26

Paul and James agree! (Ephesians 2:8-9) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- {9} not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:10) For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Adding to your faith (2 Peter 1:5-9) For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; {6} and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; {7} and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. {8} For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. {9} But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. Add godly character Add good works
