Highlights of Statewide Profile Large demographic variations across state Overall population growth has slowed International immigration largely offset by domestic outmigration Hispanic (38%) and Asian (13%) populations continue to increase while both whites (47%) and blacks (>6%) decline California is aging with fastest growth in the 45-65+ age group Unemployment is high at 12.1% One-fifth of Californians have not completed high school California Overview Age Structure by Race and Ethnicity

Drawing Implications PasadenaCalifornia Statewide Pasadena’s population increased by 2% over the past decade, slower than the statewide rate of 10%. Despite the overall increase in population, the black population declined as did the number of young people. The greatest growth was in the Asian population.
