5. 2. EDRs’ Working Procedure ①② ③ ① EDR corrects vehicle information continously. Those information are briefly stored and constsntly replaced in a recirculating loop lasting constant short time(i.e., about 5 seconds) ② At the event the EDR captures the data before and during a crash ③ EDR data can be retrieved and analyzed to understand how the vehicle performed at the time of a crash

Data Elements Recorded  Essential 15 data elements (that must be recorded) - Vehicle speed, Engine throttle position, Brake use, Driver safety belt status, airbag warning lamp status, forward Delta-V and Airbag development time, etc.  Optional 30 data elements (if recorded) - Acceleration, lateral Delta-V, Engine RPM, Steering input, etc.  Essential 15 data elements (that must be recorded) - Vehicle speed, Engine throttle position, Brake use, Driver safety belt status, airbag warning lamp status, forward Delta-V and Airbag development time, etc.  Optional 30 data elements (if recorded) - Acceleration, lateral Delta-V, Engine RPM, Steering input, etc.
