David & Eliab (I Sam. 17) Who Is Eliab? David’s older brother - I Chronicles 2:13-15 He is a soldier in Saul’s army (I Sam. 17:13) He has listened to Goliath’s threats for 40 days (I Sam. 17:16). He was not chosen by God to be king after Saul (I Sam. 16).

David & Eliab (I Sam. 17) Eliab Belittles David Why would Eliab have acted this way? Embarrassment? Guilt? These are not bad if you repent and make corrections (ex: II Cor. 7:8-11)!! Instead, Eliab is angry and resentful!!

David & Eliab (I Sam. 17) Have WE ever been like Eliab?? Peter was!! (Luke 5:8) Instead of being mad at those doing right, let us follow their example, repent, and do what’s right!! Matthew 5:16; I Peter 2:9 Beware lest we end up like Eliab!!
