Important!! Please sign in and be sure to write how your child will be going home from school. Find the folder with your child’s name on it. Inside, you will find forms and information. Please take the forms and folder with you and complete the forms and return them to school as soon as possible.

Visiting campus To ensure the safety of our students and staff, we are a closed campus. If you visit the campus at any time, please sign in through the office and receive a visitor pass. You will be required to show a picture ID each time you come on campus. Thank you for your understanding and assistance in keeping our children safe!

Supplies… 1.5” plastic binder w/ clear cover 1 Zipper Pouch (for binder) 2-24pk. Crayola Crayons 2 pkg. colored pencils 2 pkgs. #2 pencils (pre-sharpened is best) Ticonderoga 2 pkgs. Erasers (pencil cap or pink) 4 highlighters 1 pkg. dry erase EXPO markers 2 solid color folders w/ pockets & brads (plastic) 3 composition notebooks 4 glue sticks 1 pkg. Index cards 1 pkg. wide-ruled paper 3 reams copy paper 1 pkg. page protectors NO ROLLING/OVER SIZED BACKPACKS Donations: Ziploc bags, Kleenex, Clorox wipes, Band-Aids, colored copy paper, laminating sheets, address labels (#5160)

Times to know… Front drive gates open for student drop off at 7:00am. No child should arrive on campus before 7:00am. Any child arriving on campus before 7:10am must report to the cafeteria. Tardy bell rings and walk in gates are locked at 7:20am. Any student arriving on campus after 7:20am must be escorted in by a parent and signed in to receive a tardy slip in the office. Dismissal & Transportation Changes Dismissal bell rings at 1:50pm Car riders dismissed at the front round-about at middle gate. CHANGES TO BUS TRANSPORTATION CANNOT BE MADE without prior approval from The District Transportation Department Please do not rely on having your child relay a verbal request- we cannot honor a verbal request. “No Excuses” Binder All 2 nd Grade Students will be responsible for their binder! If lost or destroyed, planner must replaced by the student. Will include, but not limited to: Spelling Words Reference Web sites Newsletters Class Schedule Homework Pencil Pouch Planner SOAR Expectations Grading policies Reading Log

Standards, curriculum, and assessments… 2 nd grade curriculum is based on Florida State Standards. Students will be assessed and grades recorded according to the standards. In the classroom, we will use the district adopted textbooks, as well as other resources, to learn the required content and skills. If you ever have a question about what your child is learning or being assessed on, please do not hesitate to contact me. We will be using many cooperative learning strategies and structures within the classroom. Students will learn to work with others and be a part of a classroom community where engagement and learning are at an all time high.
