2 Lincoln, Nebraska (the capital ) Lincoln is the second most popular city in the U.S. after Omaha. The Lincoln population in 2010 was 258,379. One reason so many people live in Lincoln is because the top soil is good for farming.

3 Fun facts Kearney, Nebraska is located exactly between Boston and San Francisco. The University of Nebraska – Lincoln weight room is the largest in the country. It covers three-fourths of an acre. Nebraska has more miles of river than any other state.

4 Timeline March 1, 1867 – Nebraska became the 37 th U.S. state. 1682- the French claimed most of the land in the center of North America [Nebraska]. 1819- the army built a fort near what is now Omaha.
