Some Definitions Missionary Preparation – an approach or program to prepare Christians for missionary service. Missionary (Member) Care – an approach or program to develop and care for missionaries as they serve. Integral model – a holistic model consisting of necessary constituent parts… the parts make up the whole.

Discussion Questions What do you see as the main goal of missionary preparation and care? List the areas we should address in missionary preparation and care. In other words, list the various components of an effective approach to missionary preparation and care. From your list, what one thing do see as essential to missionary care and preparation? How does missionary preparation and care relate to discipleship?

Now it’s your turn… Outline an integral model for Missionary Preparation or Missionary/Member Care. Try to include at least one component in each of the 4 world areas. Think of an actual ministry context and be as realistic as possible. Keep the center in focus – the person of Jesus Christ! Designate a spokesperson who can share for the group.
