Wrap Up… 10 IMPORTANT things to BEFORE, DURING, & AFTER being notified of your Federal Program’s Monitoring Visit 1.Read ALL e-mails related to monitoring from the SDE contact coordinator and from your district federal programs’ coordinators 2.Ask if you don’t understand…and then ask again to clarify 3.Organize stakeholders 4.Determine district and schools’ needs 5.Meet formally and often to provide technical assistance 6.Use Monitoring Tool as a roadmap and checklist 7.Develop common vocabulary and terminology 8.Review interview questions with parents, paras, teachers, administrators 9.Empower, encourage, and IMPROVE 10.CELEBRATE
