E nvironment is generator: creation of life form is because of environment. Sun/moon, sea/ earth, hot/ cold and forests/ desert etc; they together made an environment that is fit for our existence.
6
The reasons for environmental pollution can be seen one by one. Due to urbanization, forests are destructed. There is more demand for water. Every single day, tons and tons of domestic waste is dumped. If these wastes are not disposed of properly, that will end in environmental pollution. The pall of smoke and the swirling gases cause constant hazards, polluting and contaminating both air and water. Necessary safeguard arrangements should be made against environmental pollution
7
The environmental pollution is not caused by the fall out from nuclear tests or industries alone. The smoke left by automobiles and other vehicular traffic, the use of synthetic detergents, nitrogen fertilizers cause environmental pollution. If we fail to restore the ecological balance right now, it would be too late tomorrow. So, everybody should organize their activities in such a way to drive away the environmental pollution from earth.
8
Pollution is caused due to many reasons one of them is the improper use of garbage bins, people tend to throw garbage outside the garbage bin and as this is done continuously garbage tends to build up and starts to deteriorate and leaf off a very bad smell, which starts to destroy the environment due to germs and bacteria.
9
Some people tend to throw the garbage in the bin but sometimes there is lack of garbage bin around the city, this leads people to throw their garbage outside their house or in empty spaces and when other people see it people tend to follow them and throw their garbage in the same place.
10
A big issue that is leading to pollution is the fumes and smokes from the vehicles, year by year the demand for vehicles is increasing and as more smoke and fumes are going up the air and destroying the ozone layer.

1. Turn off unneeded lights even when leaving a room for a short time 2. Once your cell phone is charged, unplug it from the charger! 3. Set your refrigerator temperature at 36 to 38 and your freezer at 0 to 5 4. When using an oven, minimize door opening while it is in use; it reduces oven temperature by 25 to 30 every time you open the door
14
5. Unplug seldom used appliances. 6. Purchase appliances and office equipment with the Energy Star Label; old refrigerators, for example, use significant more energy than newer models 7. Turn down or shut off your water heater when you will be away for extended periods 8. Use electric appliances only when you need them
15
9. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs to save money and energy. 10. Shut off electrical equipment in the evening when you leave work 11. Replace old windows with energy efficient ones 12. Use cold water instead of warm or hot water when possible
16
13. Buy green electricity- electricity produced by low - or even zero-pollution facilities 14. Eliminate mercury from your home by purchasing items without mercury, and dispose of items containing mercury at an appropriate drop-off facility when necessary (e.g. old thermometers) 15. Learn about alternatives to household cleaning items that do not use hazardous chemicals 16. Review labels of household cleaners you use. Consider alternatives like baking soda, scouring pads, water
17
17. Use traps instead of rat and mouse poisons and insect killers 18. Have your home tested for radon 19. Minimize pesticide use 20. Turn off computers and other appliances when not in use
18
21. Copy and print on both sides of paper 22. Reuse items like envelopes, folders and paper clips 23. Use e-mail instead of paper correspondence 24. Use recycled paper
19
25. Use discarded paper for scrap paper 26. Encourage your school and/or company to print documents with soy based inks, which are less toxic 27. Telecommute! 28. Purchase radial tires and keep them properly inflated for your vehicle
20
29. Walk or ride your bike instead of driving, whenever possible 30. Join a carpool to get to work 31. Check and fix any water leaks 32. Install water-saving devices on your faucets and toilets
21
33. Don’t wash dishes with the water running continuously 34. Install a low-flow shower head 35. Replace old toilets with new ones that use a lot less water 36. Avoid products with several layers of packaging when only one is sufficient (about 33 of what we throw away is packaging)
22
37. Use reusable plates and utensils instead of disposable ones 38. Use reusable containers to store food instead of aluminum foil and wrap 39. Shop with a canvas bag instead of using paper and plastic bags 40. Buy rechargeable batteries for devices used frequently
24
However, problems exist with renewable energy sources that prevent an extensive use of this helpful tool in the islands. Mainly, renewable energy systems are capital intensive and accordingly, require a large initial capital investment.
25
Also, electric utilities do not usually see the benefits of renewable, e.g., environmental advantages and economic and security benefits of non reliance on imported fuels, in their market decisions. Because all of the market power is mainly in the hands of the electric utility companies, this prevents alternative types of investments, including investments in renewable resources. A number of solutions must be incorporated by the government to entice companies into using renewable.
26
BENEFITS OF RECYCLING
27
There are countless advantages and benefits of recycling. It conserves for future resources, prevents emissions of gases and pollutants, saves energy, provides raw energy for industrial sectors, creates jobs, and stimulates the development of greener technologies.
28
AT THE END OUR GROUP WANTS TO CONVINCE ALL OF YOU TO SAVE ENVIRONMENT AND MAKE MORE PEOPLE AWARE OF SAVING ENVIRONMENT
