Information can be typed, copied, or entered as you would on any word-processing program. Caps, punctuation, and grammar will be added as normal. 15 Allie Brooks, Presenter Crowley’s Ridge Co-Op Resizing a Text Box Select a text box by clicking on it with the mouse. A border with nine handles will appear around the text box. The four handles on the corners will resize the length and the width of the box at once while the handles on the sides will resize only in one direction. Click one of the handles and drag it with the mouse. Release the mouse button when it is the size you want it to be. Move the text box by clicking and dragging the thick, dotted border with the mouse.

Click the place holder on the slide to begin adding text and press the ENTER key to return to the next line and add a new bulleted item. 20 Allie Brooks, Presenter Crowley’s Ridge Co-Op Adding Pictures Adding Pictures by Clip Art Adding Pictures by Clip Art – Click Insert – Picture – Clip Art – In the Search Box, type a word and click search. – Scroll through the choices presented on the right hand side. – Move your mouse to the right hand side of the picture you like. A small grey bar will appear. Click on it and then click insert. – The picture will appear on your screen. You can then change the size and position by clicking and dragging, like a text box.

If you download, follow the instructions for adding from clipart (previous screen) or organizer. – If you choose another website, such as Google.com “images”, you will only need to right click and copy and paste. 24 Allie Brooks, Presenter Crowley’s Ridge Co-Op Adding Transitions or Effects to Text, Picture, or Object Right click on the text or picture. Choose Custom Animation and Add Effect. Click on Entrance – More Effects Preview the choices until you find one you like and click ok. Power Point keeps a list on the right hand side to let you know which items you have animated and what order you choose. Change by clicking and dragging.

Then, choose Motion Paths and use a standard one or create your own by clicking and dragging your mouse across the screen in the pattern you want the object to move. Double click when complete. 26 Allie Brooks, Presenter Crowley’s Ridge Co-Op Modifying Effects (Changing Speed and Start Times) Right click on the object to be changed and click on Custom Animation- Add Effect. In the Modify Effect box, work with start time (Previous, with, or click on mouse), direction and speed (slow, fast, etc.) to match slides together. You can make each slide enter the slideshow in a different animated way. It helps if you are in a view that allows you to see the different slides in order. Click on Slideshow – Slide Transition. The Slide Transition box will appear on the right hand side. Click on the slide you wish to transition in and then preview the transitions by clicking on them. If you choose no transition, click No Transition.

You can change all fonts to the same one, same size, spacing, background, and color. Headers and footers (under View) can be added for all slides, as well as a logo or picture.
