3. IDENTIFY THE AIM OF THE LESSON  What do you wish to achieve?  A long term goal or direction for learners to head towards

4. IDENTIFY THE LEARNING OBJECTIVES  What will the learners be able to do by the end of the lesson?  Remember to differentiate  Same for groups or 1:1

5. ‘SMART’ OBJECTIVES Learning objectives should be:  Specific  Measurable  Achievable  Realistic  Timely

6. SELECT THE METHOD  How will the objectives be met?  How will you check learning has taken place?  Accommodate all learning needs and match to methods  What skills do you have?  Time and resources available  Teaching environment

7. IMPLEMENT THE LESSON  Follow the plan  Deviate if necessary to meet learners’ needs

8. EVALUATE THE LESSON  Who can evaluate it?  Was it a success?  What went well and why?  What could be improved and how?  Act on areas for improvement
