Prepared by: Peter Huang

Log into your Google account, and find the calendar button! If not displayed, click more, and the application will be listed there.

Click create new calendar!

1)Fill in the corresponding information where applicable. 2)Specify the time zone so that your calendar is in sync to where you teach! 3)Make it public! Tick the second box too, to hide details and only show free/busy (basic) information. It needs to be public for it to be embedded in a website. 4)Create the calendar! (*drumrolls*)

Ok, so now you just created your calendar and you probably see this. On the left panel, it will display the calendar. In my account I have multiple calendars, so I circled the calendar that has just been created. This format might look a bit weird, but it’s useful to add events specific to certain hours of a day, if you wish to add it. Eg. a trip from 8AM to 2PM. At the (1) part of the calendar, you can select to switch the layout of the calendar. You are probably used to seeing “Month”.

This is the calendar in a month layout. When you want to add an event, such as a due date, trip date, or even a date that your class is switching room locations, use the create button circled in red, and create an event!

Fill in what you need to fill in, and save the event! This one should be straight forward.

Click settings. See next slide to continue.

Click Calendars, it is circled in red.

In the row of the calendar you want to share, click the “Shared: Edit Settings” hyperlink.

Now you will see this screen! Click “Calendar Details” circled in red.

Depending on your computer screen, you MIGHT need to scroll down. Anyways, find where it says Embed This Calendar, here I drew a star and three exclamation marks beside it. On the right you will see a box with a code. Copy the code from that box and paste it into your website! For weebly, drag an embed link box onto the page, then paste the code into it!

Congratulations on creating and embedding your calendar in your website! To edit your calendar, go on your Google account and go to the calendars application. Make your necessary changes and refresh your website in edit mode! Eg. for Weebly, refresh it by clicking the “Publish” button again. Most likely it will automatically update it too. I hope you enjoyed this mini tutorial! Have fun!
