How is Christopher’s world made normal? Why is it important that we enter Christopher’s world of seemingly obscure detail? Think about aspects of Asperger’s Syndrome that you have read about? Prime numbers are what is left when you have taken away all the patterns (p15). What do you think is the appeal of numbers for someone like Christopher?

How is Christopher’s world made normal? Discuss the effect of the visuals in Chapter 3. How do they further our understanding of Christopher? But logic can help you work out the right answer (p82). Christopher exercises a Chain of Reasoning as in Chapter 67. Is it enough to approach a situation with logic only? Explain. What is ‘lacking’ in his perception of others?

Christopher’s Ethical Views Explore Christopher’s ethics by considering: Attitude to truth His inability to understand meanings other than literal ones. His aversion to lying Why he likes dogs Why he likes mathematics Why he wants to solve the mystery His reaction to him finding that his mother is alive (p141-144) His reaction to his father’s confession of killing the dog. His methods of coping during his journey to London. Write a ½ page about Christopher and his ethical views.

Does not like change Doesn’t like brown or yellow Suffers from Asperger’s. Admires Sherlock Holmes Solves everything with logic Focuses on little aspects to be able to cope. Loves physics and maths.
