Adventure Maker Music Maker Tutorial by Falloneus Braddidieus

Good news! This program does NOT require a musical background, but will actually TEACH you musical concepts like notes, octaves, and basic rhythm.

The Tool Bar Write notes Start/Insert Position Select Area Copy Cut Paste (Overwrite) Paste (Insert) Insert Space

Continued Reverse, Play, Stop Select your instrument Tempo, or speed of the song. Move all or selected notes one line up or down.

Instruments Select from 175 instruments and synthetic noises. Each track can be assigned to a single instrument.

Notes and Octaves Numbers = Octaves, or intervals of pitch. Letters = Notes

Inserting notes Click anywhere to insert a note. To make the notes longer, click and hold the button, then drag the mouse to the desired note length. To delete a note, right click it. The thin vertical blue lines help give an idea for rhythm, as they fit four little squares in each section. It’s important to play over the notes you insert, to make sure the rhythms match up with your vision for the song. If something sounds out of tune or rhythm, this will help you catch that.

Layering Instruments/ Making Chords To change tracks, click one of the numbers. You can assign each track a unique instrument. The orange bars correspond with track two. You can liberally write the orange notes without interfering with track one’s note layout. Just be sure you check to make sure the notes agree with one another.

Select & Cut/Copy Select the ___ button and click and drag the blue area to highlight the desired area. Click the __ button to copy, or the __ to cut the selection.

Paste Copy Select the __ button and place the red bar where you wish to insert the copied selection. Select the __ or the __ to paste the selection where you desire.

If you wish to copy and paste a selection from a SINGLE track, make sure to hide the other tracks so that you don’t copy them as well. You can use the TRANSPOSE buttons to shift a selection or the whole track up by single bars. If you want to add drums to a song, you have to assign each drum piece to an individual track (drum kit sounds start at Instrument 128). I would recommend assigning snare, cymbals, toms, and bass drum to their own respective tracks. Experiment a lot to figure out different rhythms, sounds, and even song riffs. Other things
