Any Club/Society who organises an activity has a duty to take all reasonably practicable steps to reduce the potential risk of that activity to those involved and also those who might be affected. Where possible safeguard your members and ensure their well-being. DUTY OF CARE

Systematic process to evaluate and minimise the risks that are likely to occur when delivering an activity. Not all risks can be completely avoided but measures can be taken to make this as unlikely as possible. RISK ASSESSMENTS

Under 18s are still allowed to take part in Societies and their activities. Legally there is a higher duty of care. Parental consent may be required. A chaperone may also be required. UNDER 18s

A personal level of insurance is included within the Sports/Societies Federation sign up fee. This is the very basic level and does not cover specialist activities or overseas trips. Some Clubs/Societies require a higher level of insurance due to the nature of their activities. INSURANCE
