2 INTRODUCTION  Bluetooth is an inexpensive, short- range, low-power wireless networking technology developed to replace cables and wires.  Key features of Bluetooth wireless technology include robustness, low power, and low cost.  This technology can work anywhere and everywhere. Bluetooth enabled device, almost everywhere in the world, can connect to other Bluetooth enabled devices in proximity.

3 HISTORY  The word "Bluetooth" is taken from the 10th century Danish King Harald Bluetooth  Bluetooth technology was first developed by Ericsson and then formalized by a group of electronics manufacturers known as the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG)  When Bluetooth was officially introduced in 1998, it’s intended basic purpose was to be a wire replacement technology in order to rapidly transfer voice and data.  A lot has changed since the first Bluetooth Core Specification Version was introduced in 1998. Recently in 2003, the Bluetooth SIG announced version 2.1 of Bluetooth.
