Introduction/Purpose We created a survey to find out how much both prospective and currently employed teachers were paying (or have paid) for their education In addition to the tuition total, teachers were asked –to indicate their grade level and area of certification –to indicate forms of payment and financial aid such as loans, grants, and work study

Introduction/Purpose We also researched the median wage and expected rate of employment for teachers of various grade levels

The average costs at a public four- year college Tuition and fees for in state students for one year: $7,605 Tuition and fees for out of state students for one year: $11,990 Tuition and fees for all four years: $33,300

The average cost of tuition at a private four-year college Tuition and fees for one year: $27,293 Tuition and fees for all four years: $119,400

Average amount of scholarship awards For the 2007-2008 school year, The National Postsecondary Student Aid Study surveyed about 114,000 undergraduate students and 14,000 graduate students. This study includes students at both two and four-year schools. The average scholarship amount was $2,523.31, with 5.5% of the surveyed students receiving scholarships.

Average amount of scholarship awards Of just four-year colleges, 8.3% of undergraduate received private scholarships worth $2,796 on average. Students at four-year colleges represented 77% of scholarship recipients in 2007-2008. 2009-2010, more than $54 billion was given out in financial aid to undergraduate students. Average amount of aid: $11,500 – including $6,000 in grants.

Conclusion/Discussion Our Median value for amount spent after completion of Master’s degree was 30-35k 4-years at state- 33,300; 119, 400 at private institution Various margins of error in questions/answers to questions
