History (La Historia) In the year 1621 after the settlers first harvest About 63 Pilgrims and 90 Native Americans came together for a celebration The feast lasted for three days and they had many similar foods to those that are still eaten today

More History This became an official Holiday in 1863 by Abraham Lincoln It is always celebrated on the 4 th Thursday in November We use this day to be with family, friends and to eat as much food as we can During dinner we go around and say what we are thankful for

Foods There are many traditional that are always eaten on Thanksgiving Everybody has their own recipes for the different dishes The most famous food is turkey

Foods Other traditional foods include: Stuffing: Vegetables that are breaded and mixed together into a soft bread caserole Mashed Potatoes Sweet Potatoes with marshellows Cranberry Sauce Gravy: Sauce for the Turkey and Mashed Potatoes and anything else you want to put it on

Desserts The most famous dessert for Thanksgiving is Pumpkin Pie, but every feast has its own unique desserts

Traditions Thanksgiving Day Parades American Football: Every year there are three professional games played on Thanksgiving Day Also, many people get together and play their own games (Turkey Bowl) Black Friday (Day After Thanksgiving): All of the stores have big sales People wait outside all night after dinner for the stores to open so they can be first in line
