3. A Day in the Life Preparation Guest speakers: Barbara Avner and Scott Klear Collect materials Sample menus Word walls with terms about diabetes. Action Barbara Avner will explain what diabetes is and how diabetes is treated. Scott Klear will explain what it is like to have diabetes. Students will read a journal about what it would be like to live with diabetes. Students will write a reflection on the journal. Students will design diabetes friendly menus. Reflection Students write a reflection about what they learned and why it is important to raise money to help cure diabetes.

4. Demonstration/Celebration A representative from JDRF will attend our walk and we will present a check to them.
