3. Process Technology (PTEC) Program at Los Medanos College  Prepares women and men to be refinery and chemical plant operators (process technicians).  Everyone is welcome.  The program can be completed in as little as 3 semesters (18 months).  The program is affordable (~$3,600 for all tuition, fees, and books; financial aid is available).  Refinery and chemical plant operators work outside as well as inside; in teams; with their hands as well as their heads.  Starting salaries of $45,000 - $65,000 per year. With overtime, an operator can make a 6 figure annual income.
