4. Why was the church built? The idea of a new church in Strandhill came about when people had to travel to Ransboro for mass, AND NO-ONE HAD CARS. The people started getting annoyed so the plan was put in place.

5. PEOPLE WHO WERE INVOLED IN BUILDING THE CHURCH Mr. Benjamin Morrow: Mr. Morrow donated the site for the new church. Mr. James Walker: Mr. James Walker was the owner of Killaspugbrone and gave permission for the removal of sand and gravel from Killaspugbrone shore Mr. R.J Kiran : He drew up the church plans Mr. Paddy Harte: Mr. Harte was the main builder.

6. The church The church building started in February 1920 It wasbuilt in horrible weather. The church was blessed by Bishop Doyle. The churchis 102 feet long,32 feet wide and 55 feet high. It was completed in 1921 in June. The church was fully dedicated to St. Patrick on August 14 th 1921.

7. THE CHURCH TODAY Mass always takes place at 9:30-10:00 and 12:30 1:00.Our current priest is Cannon Niall Ahern.. Altar servers are from Scoil Asicus Naofa.The church was refurbished in 2010.
