How I have developed as a leader through the Leadership Pathways Course
2
Personal Learning To become a more far more reflective person to think about myself and my actions and how they are affecting me and others. I struggled to envision what I really wanted for myself in the future, to think beyond practical day to day living. To realize I cannot do everything and that is okay. This is still hard for me. Online Unit “Understanding self”, the 360 Diagnostic, and change project

Influencing skills Have a clear vision of where you want to go and how you want to get there. Don’t forget the travel plan of how to influence others to travel with you on your journey. This includes: push pull analysis, stakeholder analysis, listening to others, and planning ahead. Leading by example. Skills day “Effective Influencing”, online unit –and change project.

I have am now in a shared subject leadership role of reading, in which we are promoting “reading at home”. Personally- I now have an overall vision of where I would like my life to go.I have taken steps to put this long term plan in motion- TESOL and French lessons.

Evaluation Leadership Change Project- This will be monitored and updated throughout the year. Once it has been in use for a year, I plan to survey parents to evaluate its effectiveness. Self- I think I have become a more confident as a leader- leading parent meetings, leading staff development, taking more initiative and becoming a better manager and leader.

Thoughts on leadership “I am personally convinced that one person can be a change catalyst, a “transformer” in any situation, any organization. Such an individual is yeast that can leaven an entire loaf. It requires vision, initiative, patience, respect, persistence, courage, and faith to be a transforming leader.” — Stephen R. Covey
