Dorsum of Foot Blood supply:
Anterior tibial artery via dorsalis pedis. Arcuate artery: Dorsal metatarsals to dorsal digitals. Deep plantar artery.
3
Dorsum of Foot Nerve supply: Superficial peroneal nerve:
Cutaneous. Deep peroneal nerve: Lateral branch is motor to intrinsic muscles on dorsum. Medial branch is cutaneous. Sural nerve.
4
Dorsum of Foot Muscles: Extensor digitorum brevis.
Extensor hallucis brevis: Sometimes considered part of extensor digitorum brevis. Dorsal interossei: Abductors. Second toe is reference.
5
Sole of Foot Blood supply: Posterior tibial artery:
Medial and lateral plantar arteries. Perforating arteries.
6
Sole of Foot Nerve supply: Cutaneous: Tibial nerve. Motor:
Saphenous nerve. Sural nerve. Motor: Tibial nerve: Via lateral and medial plantar nerves.
7
Layers of Sole of Foot Superficial layers: Skin. First muscle layer:
Plantar aponeurosis. First muscle layer: Abductor hallucis. Flexor digitorum brevis. Abductor digiti minimi.
8
Layers of Sole of Foot Second muscle layer: Quadratus plantae:
= flexor accessorius. Lumbricals. Flexor digitorum longus tendon. Flexor hallucis longus tendon.

Layers of Sole of Foot Third muscle layer: Flexor hallucis longus:
Sesamoid bones. Adductor hallucis. Flexor digiti minimi brevis.
