3. What is the perceived future ? World is dominated by technology and gadgets  Robots Technology brings more benefits than harm Humans will become over-reliant and over dependent on Science and Technology

4. What? Science and Technology is supposed to bring comfort for people’s lives  Instead fear and suspicion is added Humans constantly seek to improve their derived technology however the more they improve the more destruction they bring to themselves Supposedly convenience should be brought to our lives through Science and Technology however many problems and troubles are caused Irony?

5. Why? Control Man constantly seek to improve S&T, however as S&T progresses, humans are afraid of S&T overtaking their own intelligence and be better than humans. The desire to control is then amplified with the fear of their own creations becoming better than themselves

6. Assumptions 1) Human’s inventions overtake humans in its abilities 2) Various inventions that are not possible now such as flying cars, perfect voice control etc. will surface in the future 3) Air pollution will worsen seen from the dark atmosphere in the movie 4) Humans will lose control over its own inventions

7. Inferences 1) In the search for control, humans caused its own demise 2) Inventions brought about convenience but ironically causes extreme inconvenience when it fails 3) While we invent more things that bring good to ourselves, we are ultimately destroying ourselves due to air pollution, global warming etc. 4) Ironically, we humans who are not perfect can come out with inventions that are deemed perfect.

8. Truth Is what being said true? How do we know? How can we find out?

9. Truth S&T on one side has indeed improved of the quality of life of human being. The example of the analytical machine invented in the 18th century would be one of the technologies that helps human greatly. It is, too, a fact that S&T has its bipolar nature. While improving the quality of life, S&T also causes addiction. Human are becoming more and more addicted and dependent to S&T that to a certain extent, human could not survive without S&T.

10. Truth However, technology in reality did not reach a stage where it acquired its own intelligence, as opposed to the theory mentioned in the movie “blade-runner”. Human is still serving as the “master” between man and machine, although dependent has already grown. We could differentiate between the reality and the perceived future in the table below

Examples; Evidences Causes more problems to arise In the movie, the replicants are designed and made to help the humans with their work, probably bring about more convenience to the daily lives of humans However, the replicants in this case turned to revolution and wanted to go against the humans, attempting to take over the power of the humans.

Examples; Evidences Over-dependence on S&T This can be seen in the flying mobile vehicles, auto-operated machines (using the voice to give instructions) and robots Therefore, this supports the fact that humans are too reliant on S&T as illustrated in the percieved future in the movie. Hence, this causes S&T to increase its importance in our daily life, eventually gaining control over the human

The scene when Roy kissed the replicant he loved when she was killed by Deckard showed the human in him Last scene when Roy spared Deckard his life and pulled him up from plunging to death knowing that he himself had no longer to live and should not be selfish
