3. Responsibilities l Task Force Members Responsibilities: Identify TPF Disciplines for Certification. Identify Levels of Certification for each Discipline. Recommend Syllabi for each Discipline. l IBM Responsibilities: Develop and Administer IBM TPF Certification Exams.

4. Proposed Disciplines for Certification Applications Communications and Distributed Processing Coverage File Support/Data Base TPF Languages Operations Performance and Resource Management Systems and Control Program TPFDF VisualAge for TPF (VATPF) Webservices and Open Systems Architecture

5. Levels of Certification l Criteria: Based on a recognizable industry standard, e.g. MCSE Consistent with other IBM Certification Programs.

6. Issues l When and where to get tested, proposed: Following TPFUG Conference TPF Customer Site if enough participants for IBM IBM designated testing centers l Re-certification, proposed: When new Release of TPF. Not for PUT levels. Should be a bridge process between certification in a discipline that has a major enhancement after a PUT level. Either IBM class on new topic or small bridge quiz.

7. What is Next l A draft Task Force document is being prepared and published after the TPFUG conference for review and will be available on the TPFUG website and on the TPF Today website (urls at the front of this presentation). l Task Force members will review the document and respond with any changes and additions. l TPF Users should review the document and provide input. l Decision made on whether TPF User’s community wants IBM to proceed with TPF Certification. If yes then: l Task Force Document will be finalized and presented to IBM for the development of certification programs.
