5 Can you believe it?  South Dakota, in 2002, agriculture generated $3,834,625,000 (That’s billions!)

6 Top South Dakota Commodities  The top four crop commodities for South Dakota are Soybeans, Forage, Corn for grain, wheat.  The top four livestock commodities are cattle/calves, Layers, Turkeys, Hogs / Pigs.

7 How important is agriculture in South Dakota?  Let’s explore this in terms of: –Diversity –Scope –Value In groups, you will be given 15 minutes to come up with a presentation on the different agriculture products (Diversity) the amount of production (Scope) and the dollars sold (Value) for our county.
