Assures that we are engaging in continuous quality improvement by providing an institutional example Can be time-limited or ongoing Genuine effort at quality improvement, not achievement of QI goals, is desired Must be sufficient in scope and significance

Introduction to the QI process at HLC annual conference (April 2013) Introduction to VPs with request for feedback from their areas (summer 2013) Introduced to faculty with QI ideas provided (August 2013) Discussed at HLC Assessment Workshop (October 2013) Options discussed and QI decided upon by Strategic Planning Committee (November 2013): “Understanding and Improving Persistence & Completion”

Criterion 3 – Teaching & Learning: Quality, Resources, and Support The institution provides high quality education, wherever and however its offerings are delivered

Criterion 4 – Teaching & Learning: Evaluation and Improvement The institution demonstrates responsibility for the quality of its educational programs, learning environments, and support services, and it evaluates their effectiveness for student learning through processes designed to promote continuous improvement

Criterion 5 – Resources, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness The institution’s resources, structures, and processes are sufficient to fulfill its mission, improve the quality of its educational offerings, and respond to future challenges and opportunities. The institution plans for the future.

Year by year plan has been developed. For 2014/15: Assessment Committee and Retention Council continue to work on their initiatives Collect needed documentation on federal requirements and on HLC assumed practices Set up folders in N: drive for long term storage of materials related to each criterion Contribute materials to our evidence file Set up criterion committees for indepth work in 2015/16 Ask our HLC Liaison to come to campus, provide assistance and consultation
