Objective: Name and identify the six habitats – desert, polar, marine/ocean, Desert – Hot during the day. Cold at night. Sandy and dry. Marine/Ocean – Salt water and cold. Polar (antarctic or arctic) – Very cold with lots of ice.

Objective: Name and identify the six habitats – wetlands, grasslands and rainforests Rainforests- very dense, warm, wet forests. Grasslands - generally open and continuous, flat areas of grass. wetlands- a land area that has lots of water,

Objective: Know how different animals are suited (adapted) to the environment or habitat in which they live. * Long eyelashes keep sand out of the camel's eyes. * Thick eyebrows protect the eyes from the desert sun. *A camels nostrils can close so it doesn't get sand up its nose. * Camels feet are wide to walk on the sand. *Camels have thick lips to eat prickly desert plants. * Oily feathers to keep them waterproof. * Webbed feet to help them swim. * broad, flat beaks to catch fish.

Objective: Know how different animals are suited (adapted) to the environment or habitat in which they live. * white fur helps them blend in with the snow and ice. layer of fat under its skin which helps it stay warm. thick layer of fur. Gills to breathe underwater Tail and fins for swimming and balance. Bright colours Stream lined body

Use simple identification keys to observe and record characteristics of animals found locally.

Recognise ways that human activity affects the environment: pollution Pollution happens when the environment is made dirty, by waste, chemicals, and other harmful things. environment Land – This is where solid or liquid waste materials are dropped on land or underground in a manner that can ruin the soil and groundwater, threaten public health, and cause unsightly conditions and nuisances. Air pollutants (dangerous things that make the air unclean) come in the form of gases or particles. Air can be polluted both indoors and outdoors. Tobacco and other kinds of smoking are examples of indoor air pollution. Water pollution occurs when pollutants (particles, chemicals or substances that make water contaminated) are put directly or indirectly into water bodies without enough treatment to get rid of harmful compounds. Pollutants get into water mainly by human causes or factors.

What types of pollution do these pictures show?

1.Write the 4 types of pollutions and one example for each type: ________________ Example: _________________________ ___________________ Example: _________________________ ___________________ Example:__________________________ _______________Example: ___ ________________ 2.Write 2 ways we can stop air pollution: ____________________________________________________
